Al Bernard Garcia

Al Bernard Garcia is an independent dance artist, educator and choreographer from the Philippines. A graduate of Philippine High School for the Arts, Major in Folk Dance and received the most coveted, Outstanding Artist Award. Finished his Diploma in Dance at the University of the Philippines- Diliman, College of Music.

He choreographs for local dance companies and schools as well as theater productions in Metro Manila (Dulaang UP, UP Dance Company, Ballet Philippines 2, Academy One, etc.). Performs and does collaborative works in Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, USA and France. Won first prize at the Wi-fi Body Contemporary Dance Festival 2012 New Choreographers Competition (Philippines) and featured the winning piece at the Yokohama Dance Collection EX Showcase 2013 (Japan)

He is Associate Professor for Dance at Guang Ming College, Resident Choreographer and Founder of Guang Ming Dance Project.

Currently he is pursuing his MFA degree in Choreography at Nanhua Universit
