Samarkand regional theater of musical Drama

The Samarkand theater began its creative 
activity on January 15, 1914 with the 
drama "Padarkush" by Mahmudhoja Behbudy. 
Initially, the theater was called the 
Samarkand Muslim troupe. In 1914-1918 it 
was called "Samarkand musical-dramatic and 
literary gathering". On February 24, 1922, 
he began working in the city department of 
education on behalf of the Samarkand Uzbek 
Troupe.
Thirty-four quarters of the last century, 
Samarkand became an important stage in the 
development of the Uzbek theater. Over the 
years he saw famous works: Amirich, Farhod 
and Shirin, Malikay Turando, Gunchalar, 
Rustam, Renaissance, Maysaraning Ishi, 
Adolat. , "Nurkhon", "Gulsara", "Ayot 
tsoshigi", "Oila nomusi" ..
In 2016, the theater was transformed into 
the Samarkand Regional Music and Drama 
Theater.
During the years of independence, new 
creative research has been carried out in 
the theater. "Samarkandnoma", "Buyuk 
Temur", "Ipak Yuli", "Behbudiy" were 
staged.
