AROUND THE WORLD IN 72 SONGS

With this project, I want to discover and share with you songs from all over the world. I will sing them to you in a series of videos, and I will accompany myself with my barrel organ. 

I will follow Nellie Bly, a journalist who, in 1889/90, was the first record holder in racing around the world in 72 days. I will follow her route, but in the meantime I will take her on my journey, to countries she didn’t have the opportunity to visit, to discoveries that she didn’t make. 

The project’s special mission is to promote female singers and songwriters in particular or songs that contribute to enriching the history of women through the ages. Who is the Maria Callas of Cameroon or the Edith Piaf of Romania? Or what is a Portuguese Cantigas de amigo?
