Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District

Platteville Gilcrest Fire Protection District serves 144 square miles in southern Weld County, Co, to include the Townships of Platteville and Gilcrest plus surrounding unincorporated areas. We provide fire suppression, EMS ambulance response, hazmat mitigation, fire prevention, wildland suppression, and community service activities. PGFPD was established in 1951 by combing the Platteville and Gilcrest Volunteer fire departments. Our proud tradition of service originally dates back to 1895. Today we serve the community with full-time staffed firefighters and paramedics 24/7 out of 2 stations.

Our Station 1 houses a fire engine, ALS ambulance, and a Battalion Chief. Our Station 2 houses a fire truck and an ALS ambulance. During the week, our Station 1 also houses our District Fire Chief, Assistant Chief admin staff, EMS Chief/PIO, and Training Chief/Safety Officer.
