NIO... follow the white rabbit 🐇

I'm Elliot Holden — you might know me as Urban Guitar Legend. By night (and by day, honestly), I'm a guitarist who's shared stages with acts like the Derek Trucks Band, Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, and Sonny Landreth, and who appeared in Tyler Perry's A Jazzman's Blues. My playing style is a genre-blending mashup — Rock, Blues, Jazz, Hip-Hop, and Middle Eastern influences — and it's earned some comparisons to Hendrix and Jeff Beck along the way.

But this channel isn't about guitar. For over 20 years I've worked in tech — Perl, Linux, Containers and Kubernetes - and that engineering brain is what pulled me into NIO. Their tech stack is genuinely unusual: a seL4 microkernel, the SkyOS operating system, the Shenji NX9031 self-developed smart-driving chip, the Aster OS powering the Firefly's slick in-car UI, and a Battery-as-a-Service model that rethinks car ownership entirely. I dig into all of it here — not just whether the cars are good, but whether NIO's business model actually holds up.
