Kilted Chess Noob

I'm Coach Rab (a health and wellness Coach) who has always loved the game of Chess.

Having been taught by my father at a young age, I hadn't touched the board in almost 30 years but have recently got back into playing.

Playing chess is certainly fun, playing chess well is far more enjoyable so I've embarked on a quest to try get my Elo rating higher.

This channel is to document my journey along the way.

My starting Elo at point of launching this channel is 1284 for 'daily' with the target of 1500 by the end of the year.

After that point I'll try get my rapid rating to the same standard. (my current rapid rating is 831, the time pressures revealing huge gaps in my knowledge)

As my YouTube handle states, I considered myself a noob but want to document my progress and hopefully inspire others to take up chess and enjoy the classic game.
