Fénix Castro

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and currently based in Charlotte, NC, Fénix Castro has no issue with letting the political seep into his writing while simultaneously weaving a story about what he loves or mourns. Having been born in a colony and survived the conditions it implies, the welcomes or farewells of a loved one, assuming the human condition from its affirmations and contradictions, among others, are some of the approaches that Fénix proposes, whether on a beat by Cardejez or Lu Tapes (among many others) or even to the melody of a bolero.
