YUN DOOM

Whit the fuck is yun?

Hailing from Shetland, a salt-blasted outcrop of islands separating the Atlantic from the North Sea, comes Yun, and they bring their debut album, Wan.

Wrathful, fierce, dirty, and raw, but not without a few graceful moments, it draws from a murky well of doom, stoner, and sludge, but also classic and psych rock, and more subtly folk and bluegrass. The often roared lyrics evoke viking warlords, tribal warfare, and dark, forgotten history and mythology. This imagery is backed up with a catalogue of bombastic riffs, as unrelenting as an avalanche, forced through an arsenal of amplifiers and fuzz pedals.
Riffs for bone, flesh of tone.
