Kurtis Stewart - The Photography Tutor

I've been a part of the photography industry since 2009. Over the years I've worked as an assistant, digi-tech, retoucher, producer, and of course photographer. With this channel, I hope to address "what I wish I were taught in photography school". My hope is to blend practical industry experiences with questions from the community to provide succinct and actionable content.

Ever since graduating from photo school, I wanted to come back, teach, and improve upon my experience as a student. I began as a teaching assistant in 2011 then started instructing my own classes in 2015. I've taught all sorts of classes from 3-hour private workshops to 12-week long college courses. Having taught in person for so long, I love the idea of reaching a larger audience online (college classrooms can only be so big). 

Part of being a good instructor is continually remembering what it's like to be a student. I think the best way to accomplish that is to be a beginner often (like starting this channel).
