DJ Pippi: The Architect and Living Legend of the Ibiza Sound

DJ Pippi is living history of dance music and a founding father of the “Ibiza sound.” With a career spanning over 50 years, he has helped shape the global House scene.

His journey began in Germany in the late 1970s. After arriving in Ibiza, he was discovered by Pacha’s management and became central to the club’s rise as a global destination, with historic residencies from 1984–1987 and, from 1991, continuing today for special events. Between them, he performed at the legendary KU, now UNVRS. His influence was recognised by DJ Magazine’s iconic August 1998 cover.

His global anthem “I Luv U Baby” (The Original, 1995) sold over 20 million copies. He also helped pioneer the Ibiza-Lounge sound through “Pacha Ibiza,” “Undiscovered Ibiza” and “A Touch of Class,” helping lay the foundations of Café del Mar.
Pippi has collaborated with Frankie Knuckles, Louie Vega, Carl Cox, Mike Oldfield, B-Tribe, Sacred Spirit, Enrique Iglesias and Friedrich Gulda. With Willie Graff, he created “Follow Your Dreams” and “Universal Language”; “Bocadillos Variados” showcases his solo artistry.

Today, with over 100,000 monthly Spotify listeners and millions of streams on “Never Stop Dreaming” and “Nada Mais,” Pippi remains an essential figure performing worldwide.

A DJ must live the music every day. Everything I have today is due to determination and hard work.”
