The Valkyrie Ensemble

The Valkyrie Ensemble is a Chicago based non-profit musical organization striving to empower women in opera by supporting female-identifying classical musicians and taking charge of the female operatic narrative. The group produces updated versions of the operatic canon, and highlights historical as well as new works by female composers through recital programs. The organization also cultivates networking and mentorship opportunities, and is working towards providing paid performance opportunities for young female musicians in an industry where one often has to pay-to-play.
