Carmina – Japanese Traditional Songs

Carmina is a Japanese music unit presenting traditional dōyō and shōka—songs sung in Japan for over a century—as cultural heritage for global audiences.
Featuring vocalist Nozomi Kato and composer/arranger Takuya Kuribayashi, Carmina reimagines these songs through refined contemporary arrangements while preserving their original spirit.
Rather than children’s entertainment, these songs are expressions of Japanese language, seasons, and collective memory.
Through performances and cultural explanations in English, Carmina aims to share the quiet beauty and emotional depth of Japanese traditional songs with the world.
