The Vine at NFUMC

Located on the North Fork of Long Island NY, we are a church with a Mission for serving our community.

UMC congregations on the North Fork started to discuss ways to help our congregations flourish. As the congregations began to reach critical levels, the probability of the churches dying became a reality. We understood that we could not do this by ourselves.

In May 2014, the lay leadership brought a vision to the congregations, who made the difficult decision to merge the two congregations (Cutchogue and Southold) into the North Fork United Methodist Church. In May of 2015, the Greenport congregation joined. In May of 2016, Orient UMC joined the NFUMC family.

In August of 2022, the congregation voted to amend our name to The Vine at North Fork UMC. This reminds us in everything we must remain in the presence of Christ. - I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.- John 15:5
