The dynamics of gender and development

Hi everyone, welcome to my channel! I am Dr. Anne Fausto Sterling: a scientist, author, and professor focused on gender and development. I study gender/sex expression in both humans and animals -- be they vertebrates (with a backbone) or invertebrates (no backbone!). I am also specifically interested in the intersection of women, gender, and science.

We can best understand gender/sex by thinking in terms of dynamic development. That means we have to stop asking about nature vs. nurture and instead ask about the developmental process. How does cultural difference become bodily difference? I will share lectures that I have given over the past decade that aim to explain these ideas.
