Imagine staring at an infinitely-detailed painting. As you stare, your vision seems to catch smaller and smaller details. You start to feel as if you are “falling” into the painting, losing the edges of the painting at the edges of your vision, zooming further and further into the depths of the infinite detail of this Masterpiece. As you “zoom” you occasionally glance over and your frame of reference changes, revealing a whole new infinite set of details to zoom into.

This “zooming” is the uncontrolled flow of experience, the “frame of reference” is the current moment and the possibilities you’re aware of right now, the “glance” is your agency focusing your zoom in a specific direction, and the Masterpiece is the infinite knowledge of God’s Mind. Agency (free will) lies not in modifying the painting, but in the freedom of shifting your glance even a hair to the left or right as you’re zooming, to admire a whole new infinite set of beauty.
