Africa Before Borders

Africa Before Borders uncovers the kingdoms, civilizations, discoveries and ancestry stories that shaped Africa before the modern map.

Through evidence-led documentaries, we explore archaeology, ancient and medieval African kingdoms, historical records, trade networks, ancestry and DNA research, and the discoveries changing what we know about Africa’s past.

From history of Southern Africa, the Kingdom of Kush to Mali, Benin, Kongo and beyond, each documentary follows the evidence separating established history from myth, disputed interpretations and speculation.
