A Inkster risk taker and strategist whose making moves to benefit his community. As a local lyricist, emcee, and musician he balances his time to serve as a community change agent. J. Reed highly regards his personal relationships and social capital. 

Musically, Reed has been busy, to say the least. He has performed on Fox 2 News, been featured in “Rolling Out” magazine and recently won an opportunity to perform on the nationally televised show “The Real”! 

Regardless of his successes as an artist, his community efforts haven’t ceased. He has been a guest on “The Word Network”, he made the front cover of “Detroit News” for the work he does with non profit organization “Beyond Basics, and recently he received the “Detroit Neighborhood Award” for all of the work he does in the community. 

Reed has been regarded as “The Community’s Artist”, and rightfully so.
