ICATT Apprenticeship Program

The German American Chamber of Commerce® of the Midwest (GACC Midwest),  headquartered in Chicago is an integral part of the network of German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) with 130 offices in 90 countries around the globe. Our continuing mission is to further, promote, and assist in the expansion of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States, especially the Midwest. GACC Midwest’s territory covers the 13 states of the Midwest and Colorado.

Our ICATT program addresses the needs of manufacturers in the northern Illinois region. Their challenge finding skilled workforce led to the design of this unique training program, a company driven approach to Technical Training. Following the structures and recognized standards of the German Dual Model of Vocational Training, this 3-year program combines on-the-job training at companies and theoretical training at a college for the profession of Industrial Technician.
