Kai Kay - Topic

Kai's music fuses R&B, trap, pop, rap, alternative, hip-hop, soul, cinematic, country and more. It's as old-school as it is modern, as laid-back as it is energetic, as different as it is relatable. His vocals also show a range of stylings, as Kai crafts his voice into an instrument, as much as the instruments themselves. Take a ride on a different side, with non-explicit lyrics, warm tones, musical vibes and instant memories… discover Kai Kay!

BACKGROUND...

Kai was born and raised in Prince George's County, Maryland and has been in the DMV area all his life. He has always been interested in performing arts. By the time Kai hit middle school, he was performing solos in the choir and being cast in musical plays, which garnered him several actor and music awards. He then turned his many talents into a YouTube channel with entertaining videos that included comedy, music, acting and stories.

During the pandemic, it was difficult to keep up with video content, so Kai turned his priority to music. His first official single was released at the end of 2020. Kai has since released a total of five singles, learning the business and production, along the way. When he felt he was ready, Kai started working on an album. He composed, wrote the lyrics, produced, mixed, mastered and did every vocal you hear on the album, himself. A true one man show, every emotion, every word, is Kai's true passion, with no outside censoring or editing. It's raw, it's beautiful, and It's About Time!
