A story of a mom intentionally listening to and supporting her nonspeaking AuDHD teenager with intellectual disability who uses robust creative multimodal communication to include echolalia (aka gestalt language development). Our story is *not* intended to be an instruction manual but rather a launching pad to get inspiration for creating those “just right” supports for each unique person. No one deserves to go through life being misunderstood.
