Smart Packaging Europe

Smart Packaging Europe, an EUMEPS initiative, is an alliance of companies big and small that reflects the diversity of the European expanded polystyrene (EPS) industry. Our mission is to contribute to a more circular, sustainable economy in Europe by raising awareness of the economic, social and environmental benefits of EPS packaging.

The industry as a whole is composed of more than 1,000 raw material producers, converters, additive suppliers, recyclers, and machinery manufacturers, most of them small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). They generate yearly sales of more than 5 billion euros and directly employ more than 60,000 people across Europe. We span the full EPS life cycle from raw materials production to packaging manufacturing and recycling.
