NoFront - Financial Empowerment

Black and money are rival words? From this reflection came NoFront - Financial Empowerment, an economic education platform focused on the black community in Brazil. They are more than 100 million of Brazilians, who earn on average 47% less than the white population. In this context, the startup commanded by Afro-Brazilian economist Gabriela Mendes, 24, developed a method of teaching economics and finance through rap music. Starting from everyday elements in rap music, the trail of developed knowledge has a purpose: to break the cycle of poverty through knowledge. Discussions on consumption, indebtedness, economic concepts such as interest, inflation and investment possibilities are carried out in a light and advisory manner. The company was founded in São Paulo in May 2018, and has already reached more than 3700 people, of which 68% are black women.
