RETROACTIVUS w/ Erik (Jalava) Matthews

I've adopted the name Retroactivus for a project built around stories, memories, music, culture, history, mini-docs, and commentary.

Some stories come from my own life as a musician, songwriter, performer, teacher and traveller. Others explore people, events and ideas that I find important, frustrating, inspiring, worth talking about, or simply fun.
Music. The past. The present. People. Culture. History. Canada. The world. Politics. The things we remember, the things we shouldn't forget, and the things we wish we could forget.

At the heart of it is something I've carried with me since childhood:

Inquisitive; Never Concrete.
I question things. Probably to a fault. I try to look at context, intent, value and honesty. I listen. I consider different perspectives. I don't pretend to have all the answers, and I don't believe the first answer is necessarily the final one.
