Danielle S (Mamademics)

Mamademics was initially a merging of my two “careers”–motherhood and academia. Right away I realized that being a mother was going to be the biggest job I ever took on, but I wasn’t quite ready to give up on the ivory tower, so I tried to bring them together. Sadly, this didn’t work out as expected, and you can read all about that in my essay, “Academia Didn’t Have A Place For Me, So I Made My Own Academy” in the anthology of Independent Scholars of the World.

Mamademics now chronicles what it means to navigate parenting at the intersections of social justice, books, and art as a forever learner. This channel will focus heavily on my love of books and art w/ the occasional parenting story.
