Mike Newingham

I have been playing guitar and writing songs since the Summer of 1981. My original influences were Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, The Ventures, and my Dad, but, I need to mention a lot of years of studying and listening to instrumental guitar players like Joe Satriani, Larry Carlton, Steve Vai, Jeff Beck, Andy Timmons, Tommy Emmanuel, and Pete Thorn... All guitar heroes to me. I'll even take an occasional swing at a steel string fingerpicking or classical song. My wife may tease me and ask where the words are in my songs, but, that's OK... This "guitar nerd" loves to listen to and write instrumentals. What can I say? We, the "guitar nerds" are a strange breed, but, there are a TON of us on YouTube!
